Harry was in the main room of the common room sitting on one of the squishy chairs in front of the fire going through his bag of pranks. He had gotten a few things from the Weasley twins, where they had sold him them even though they were still experimenting and a few things from Zonko’s he bought just before the year began. Luckily, his family was well off, so money wasn’t really a problem. His father had a fortune from his father and his parents both had well enough jobs. While he was best friends with Ron, the Weasleys wouldn’t accept money – so in return Harry helped support the Weasley Twins. He was also trying to convince his parents to invest a large sum in them so they could start a full business but it was still in negotiations. Harry found himself chewing on a sugar quill as he sorted a few dungbombs from a few toffees he bought from the twins as the fire roared. He was still in his school clothes haven’t really gotten changed yet. He wanted to get this done, then he would go to bed. Though he might need to study a bit – especially when it came to potions given this year was when they had OWLs and his current grades were bad. He might not make the grade he needed so he could get into the NEWT class he needed. The others he was not really worried about, he did well enough. But if he wanted to be an Auror he needed potions.  Hermione had been in the library for most of the day studying away like she was always known to do. Her homework that had been due by the end of the summer had been done by the middle of summer after she had gone on some travels with her parents since they used the summer to hang out as a family since she had only came home for holidays once and a great while. The female had finally made her way back to the common room right before dinner and now she had been there ever since the end of dinner.
The female made her way down to the common room after putting a few things away and had settled upon one of her books she had brought from home. She walked down to see only a few people relaxing in the common room and noticed Harry sitting on one of the chairs near the fireplace. She made her way over and sat down on the couch nearest to the chair.
"So what are you doing?" she asked softly.

He picked up one of the Weasley’s ‘decoy detonators’ and tossed it towards Hermione. She was one of his friends since their first year, they’d been through tons of things together. Mostly him getting in trouble and her helping him out – or correcting something he was trying to do that would end up blowing up in his face. He wasn’t as strong as the twins when it came to pranking, nor was he into it as much as them – he just liked a few laughs here and there… not necessarily sticking people’s heads in toilets or blowing them up. Mostly harmless things. [break][break] “The usual. I plan to use one of those in case I get caught at night. The twins called it a decoy detonator. You can try that one out. It should crawl away and then make a lot of noise – a perfect distraction – before disappearing and leaving no traces of itself.” He laughed and leaned back in the chair he sat in and then looked towards the fire, the light shining in his eyes. He was such a lucky boy – he had a wonderful family he loved dearly, and a lot of extended not-technically-blood family of all sorts. He wouldn’t trade a thing about his life for anything else, even if he did have some things rough – though not all that many. His mom could be overbearing – his dad could sometimes not be serious enough, but he wouldn’t want it any other way. [attr="class","headerbox"]

 Hermione looked over at Harry as he tossed her a Decoy detonator that he had gotten from the Weasley's. It didn't quite surprise her when he was already trying to decide what pranks he was going to do over the course of the year. It also meant that she had to be prepared to help him and Ron either with getting them out of trouble or she would have to do something or another to help them out. Ever since they had met she had always helped them out and she didn't honestly mind because she had grown to like helping them out. The only one she was sure didn't really appreciate her help at times was Ron and she only knew that because even from the start he was annoyed by her, but had come to get used to her in the friend group. "Of course you are, It doesn't surprise me since it seems like you do this every year and I'm just ready to help in any minor way I can as long as I don't get into trouble. But seems no matter how much I try not to I still get caught but I don't mind to much anymore" the female said softly. "I'd rather not test it out especially this late. Unless you want to have people coming down and complaining about one thing or another" Hermione said tossing the Decoy Detonator back over to Harry. |
