- His mum never got the chance to marry as the man that she had fell in love with, and had Ares' little sister with was killed while out on an assignment as a hit wizard.
- When he was 12 he found out who his biological father was from his mum the summer before he went back to school to start his 2nd year.
- That summer he was glad that he had never met the man who had basically raped his mum, and deep down he hated that man one Regulus Black. Apparently she had been engaged to Sirius Black but after that event they had split up. And Ares was quite glad that he looked more like his mum's side than that of the Blacks

Granted they have come up with some rather interesting inventions such as motorcycles, much better music, etc.
