Hermione was already getting a head start on the years reading. She had starting reading over the summer but there was so much to read and it had to be done. Or at least in her mind she wanted to get the reading done so she knew what to expect and be ahead of the game. The female had made her way across the school after leaving the Gryffindor Common Room to the library to get some reading done with less distractions.
The Library was empty all except herself and a couple other students. She made her way through a row of books and finally found a table that she could sit at and read. She knew she was less likely to get disturbed here and hoped that it would remain that way. She set down a few of her books that she had brought with her onto the brown table and took a seat. She opened one of the few books and started to read it. Her gaze only lifted every once and a while checking to make sure no one was around especially if Harry and Ron showed up. She knew those two would be more then likely be the first to find her here but she never knew now a days if anyone needed help from her.

Ares had wandered the halls for quite sometime today before he found himself standing in the doorway to the library. A place he had spent more than his fair share of time in during his first couple of years in school. But in his third year he had taken to checking out the books that he needed and finding someplace on the grounds or somewhere in the castle to read and study, he still found the library a little too noisy. He proceeded to enter the library and head to one of his usually tables in the library, and as he did so he browsed the books on his way, trying to see if there were any new books on the shelves that had been added over the summer. He knew that this year and next year he would spend a considerable amount of time studying. As he got closer to the table, he noticed that there was someone already there reading. He’d recognize the person anywhere, Hermione Granger the one person that most Ravenclaws thought should be in their house instead of Gryffindor. “I would say that I am surprised to find you in the library Granger but I’m not really surprised.” He said in way of greeting as he pulled out one of the chairs and promptly sat down in it and leaned back a little while putting his feet up on the table with not a care in the world if he got in trouble from the librarian. Hermione had gone to focusing on her reading until she heard footsteps against the wooden floors of the library. She lifted her gaze to see a male coming towards her. At first, she couldn't tell who it was until they had reached the table.
"Well, I needed somewhere to study without any distractions. Besides this is one of the best spots for it. I come to this spot quite a lot" she said moving her books slightly as he sat back in his chair and lifted his feet up onto the table. If it had been anybody else she would have totally had said some remark towards them but she knew of this person but other than that there wasn't much she knew.
"I would have asked if you came here to study or anything but by the looks of it, I'm guessing not because you have no books or anything. Unless you're getting something from the library but even then you don't have anything in hand." Hermione said softly.

He quirked an eyebrow, the rumors were definitely true then, Granger loved to study and started before classes even officially started. “It is a good spot. I used to study in this spot during my first two years here.” He stated in agreement. “However, it still felt to noisy in here, so I’ve taken to studying outside, or wherever I can find that is quiet and away from the masses.” While he didn’t mind being around people, he just preferred to study alone, granted he could study with his sister and Daphne but not really anyone else. “Nope it is way to early in school year to be taking books out, unless I could get into the restricted section, with permission since it is daytime.” He answered, and paused for a moment as he gave thought to an idea. “Or I could go ahead and sneak in there tonight.” He smirked at the thought. It was something that he had done multiple times and had only gotten caught once when he had knocked a few books off a shelf that decided to scream when they hit the floor. “So, what has you studying so hard this early in the year? I mean there are no tests yet and you won’t have your O.W.L.s until the end of the school year." Ares really had no idea why someone would study hard when classes hadn’t even started. But then yet again most of what he studied was rarely the course material if he had free time. New and interesting spells could be found in some of the books. Hermione J. Granger

Hermione looked over at Ares and shook her head slightly. "This place is far more quiet then the common room. And if it's nice out outside has far more distractions depending on the area you choose. Which is why I like it right here" she said closing the book that she had been reading and closed it up. She had been reading one of the books that she had for Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
"Even if it's daylight it's not the easiest to get permission to get in there. I've only been in there a couple of times myself" she explained softly deciding to ignore his idea of wanting to possibly sneak into the restricted section for the time being. She was a prefect after all but she knew and hoped that he had just been joking around about sneaking into the place in the middle of the night.
"Well like every year I like to get a head start on my readings for class so I know what to expect. You'd be surprised when I say that I already nearly finished all of the readings since I started reading them in the Summer. And then when the topic comes up in class I know where to go and not need to read the books and can focus on the homework when it comes up. I have done ever since the Summer before my first year since I was coming into an entire new world" Hermione said leaning back in her own chair and crossing her arms against her chest.
"So why come here if you didn't plan on reading anything or studying?" she asked.

Ares chuckled at Granger's response to his question. "Only a couple of times? Well then you haven't asked the right people for permission." Seriously it was easy to get permission most of the time. And at times like late at night well you could just get permission from anyone. So he always did the next best thing by sneaking into the restricted section. "Don't tell me you haven't thought about sneaking in there. All that potential knowledge just out of reach." He asked/stated. "Where is your sense of adventure and daring, or are Gryffindor a such as yourself a bit soft than in the past?"
That was in fact a good question. Why exactly was he here if not to get some books. "Well I was wandering the halls just minding my own business when my feet decided to stop right in the entryway of the library." Ares really had no idea what he was doing here. It wasn't like he needed any information from any of the books in here right now anyways.

Hermione looked over at Ares and gave a small shake of her head, "Well I'm not one who likes to always break the rules. And I don't always need to go in there." she said. As he went on to mention that she never was tempted to go into the Restricted section. The female knew what type of books were within that section, that was the only section that she had yet to read every book within in. "I know exactly what's within those shelves, I mean I know a lot more then you'd expect. As for adventure i do have that but that doesn't mean I want to break the rules every single day. Nor do I really want to get expelled" Hermione said sternly keeping her eyes on the male in front of her.
"Well that defiantly is a bit odd but I guess you can't really always explain your actions. Even if it means you just sitting around the library doing nothing besides having a conversation with me. I come to the library cause usually I plan to get stuff done but not everyone is the same I suppose" she said. When it came to her friends she had a tendency to convince them to join her in the library so they could study for exams and anything else they needed to do.
